I had the opportunity to work with Sergi Villalba during the Oceania project and was delighted with his skills and knowledge. Sergi is a very knowledgeable person in his field of expertise, and he is an outstanding communicator. While in Panama with the Oceania expedition, we worked together in a series of Climate Change related topics. He did a superb job gathering information on each topic, organizing interviews and meetings with local experts and eventually communicating about how Climate Change is impacting some areas of the Central American country. From my chats with Sergi, I also learned about his interests in climate change and science in general. I was also able to witness his extreme motivation to learn at a personal level, and I also found a very disciplined, industrious person, with a pleasant personality. Sergi has demonstrated great perseverance and initiative in all the tasks he has been involved in, together with and a great sense of responsibility. I believe his research interests in environmental related projects, and the outstanding work done with me in this Climate Change project, make him a unique and very recommendable candidate for future projects. I am confident that his past performance will be rewarded in the future, and that he can become an extremely positive asset to a variety of programs.
